Firm booked in cheating case
The EOW of the city police have registered a case against a New Delhi-based firm -- Okara Agro Industry -- for allegedly cheating the complainant -- Swaran Singh and others of Rs 18 lakh. Police sources said that Singh had alleged that he had invested nearly Rs 2.5 lakh but when the deposit matured the company's branch office was found closed.

Man caught stealing clothes
A Dadumajra resident, Juggal Kishore, was arrested while stealing clothes from a house in Sector 37.

Scooter recovered
The city police have arrested a resident of Ropar district, Devinder Singh, and recovered a stolen scooter (CH-01-D-5530) from him. The scooter was stolen from PGI parking area on February 10.

Four booked
The police have booked four persons - Shri Nath, Mohinder Kumar and Surinder Kumar of Maloya Colony, and Ram Chander of Dhanas -- for allegedly beating up a colony resident, Shiv Bahadur Yadav. The complainant was injured and was sent for medical examination to the Sector 16 Government Hospital. No arrests have been made so far.
