Illegal goods seized
Computer and watch parts worth over Rs 1 crore were seized by the customs' Air Cargo Preventive Unit. The consignments had been imported for Janakpuri based Smridhi Enterprises. In another raid, customs officials detected duty evasion amounting to Rs 97.45 lakh by two Ludhiana-based companies on the import of acrylic staple fibre. While the consignments were from Thailand, the firms had wrongly declared Taiwan the country of origin.

Youth shot at
Two unidentified youths shot at another youth in the Tughlaqabad Extension area on Friday afternoon. The youth, Gulab Singh, sustained injuries on his right thigh. He told the police that the youths called him out of his house saying that his uncle had sent them. Then they took him to a deserted area near Tughlaqabad Fort and asked him about his role in ``Monday's incident''. When Gulab Singh told them they that he had no idea of what they were talking about, one the youths opened fire from a country-made revolver.

Trader robbed
A trader was robbed of Rs 2.58 lakh by three men in Sarai Rohilla in North Delhi on Wednesday. Hari Om Gupta, who was returning with his father on a scooter from his metal-works shop in Sadar Bazar, was accosted by three men near a traffic signal in Shastri Nagar at 8.30 p.m. The men, who were on a bike, robbed the trader at gunpoint. Several bystanders just stood watching.
