RBI helps Sinha, cuts interest rates Supplementing the initiatives taken by the Finance Minister in the Union Budget, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday cut interest rates in a strong signal to spur economic growth. The central bank slashed the repo rate by 200 basis points to six per cent, bank rate to 8 per cent from 9 per cent and the cash reserve ratio (CRR) to 10.5 per cent from 11 per cent to 10.5 per cent.SGPC meeting on March 22 Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) president Gurcharan Singh Tohra today in a tactical move called a general house meeting of the committee on March 22, without listing the agenda of no-confidence motion against him for which 103 members of SGPC had served a notice on February 15 last.
