Two charged with rash driving acquitted

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, March 1: UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) Paramvir Nijjar today acquitted two persons charged with rash and negligent driving causing death.

Anil Goel, a resident of Panchkula, earlier booked under Sections 279, 304-A IPC, was today acquitted of the charge on grounds that the prosecution had failed to examine the complainant/eyewitness and prove the case. Lal Man Ram, the complainant in the case, was not examined by the prosecution. Only three formal witnesses were examined. Anil Goel, the other acquitted, was earlier charged with driving rashly and causing death of one Munna Devi in Industrial Area.

Sarabjit Singh, booked under Sections 279, 337, 304-A, was also acquitted by the JMIC today in wake of the eye witness turning hostile. Sarabjit was charged with causing minor injuries to one Jaswant Singh (also the complainant in this case) and death of another person.
