Man killed in Seelampur

NEW DELHI, MARCH 1: The assailant became the victim, when a wanted criminal was shot dead at point-blank range by another history-sheeter in Seelampur, north-east Delhi last night.

Suresh, wanted in several cases of murder and attempted murder, barged into the house of Jamil, also wanted by the police in a number of cases, at around 11.30 p.m. last night and shot him at point-blank range, the police said. The motive was reportedly an old grudge. Suresh managed to escape. The police have launched a manhunt. Apparently, Suresh lived in the area and had only recently sold his house in Seelampur.

In another incident, the body of a dhaba owner was found in the north-west district today. The police suspect that 48-year-old Tara Chand was allegedly murdered by his domestic helper.
