More cheer for the cup that cheers

MUMBAI: Packaged tea will cost Rs 8 to Rs 12 less per kg following the abolition of the 8 pc excise duty on tea packets that was levied last year.Announcing this, Harendra Shah, president of the Federation of Tea Traders Association of Maharashtra said packaged can come down further if the State Government abolished the 8 pc sales tax imposed in the State.

114-yr-old woman dies after rape

HUMANSDORP: A woman said to be 114-years old died after she was raped by a 29-year-old man in South Africa's eastern Cape province, police said today. Dina Boesaka was raped in her home in Kwanonzama by a man apparently known to her.

MSRTC stir put off

MUMBAI: The proposed strike by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation workers union on March 10, has been postponed in view of the SSC and HSC examinations beginning this week in the State.
