Ration card racket busted

NEW DELHI, March 3: The police have arrested one Pop Singh alias Pappu following a complaint by Badarpur MLA Ram Singh Neta, saying that his signature was being forged for obtaining ration cards. Singh used to run a kabari shop in Hari Nagar. Singh had made a business out of forging documents and signatures of various officers including the local MLA. He also used to attest photocopies of documents.

Eight rubber stamps of various officials like the principals of schools, engineers, MTNL officers and MLAs were recovered from his shop. Besides this, 73 prepared ration cards and 67 photocopies of ration cards were recovered.
