BANGALORE, FEB 3: Hosts Karnataka dethroned Maharashtra and emerged overall champions at the fourth Federation National Cross Country Championships held in Kanakapura, about 70 km from here, today.Karnataka logged 26 points and Bihar, who breathed down the neck of hosts, finished second with 25 points.
The championships was selection trials for the World Cross Country Championship to be held in Great Britain on March 28.
In the men's section, I Shivanand and HN Anandkumar, both from Karnataka, bagged the titles in 12kms and 8kms respectively. The honours in women's section went to MA Molly of Kerala and KP Suma of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) where they emerged victorious in 8kms and 4kms respectively.
In the race for under-20 boys and girls, Sashi Prakash of Uttar Pradesh and Amarjeet Kaur of Punjab were the winners.

MEN: 12kms: 1, I Shivanand (Kar) 35:58.00 secs; 2. Anil Kumar (Bihar); 3. Dasarath (Mah).
Four kms: 1. HN Anandkumar (Kar) 12:14.00 secs;, 2.Ravindra Kurubagatty (Kar); 3. Satish Kumar (CRPF).
Boys under-20 (Eight kms): 1. Sashi Prakash (UP) 22.54.00 secs; 2. BB Manjunath (Kar), 3 Mubarak Mandal (Del).
WOMEN: 8kms: 1. MA Molly (Ker) 26:09.00 secs; 2. Reena Das (Bihar); 3. Aruna Devi (Bihar).
Four kms: 1. KP Suma (CRPF) 14:46.00 secs; 2. Madhuri Gurnule (Mah); 3. Mukti Roy (CRPF).
Girls under-20 (Six kms): 1. Amarjeet Kaur (Pun) 21:42.00 secs; 2. Sarita Marbate (Mah), 3 Jisha Thomas (Ker).
Overall champions: Karnataka 26 pts, Bihar 25 pts.
