Hooch claims eight livesPATNA/SALEM: Eight people died and two were taken ill after consuming illicit liquor in two case reported from Bihar's capital Patna and Salem Tamil Nadu today. While six died in Patna, two deaths were reported from Salem. Police said the two consumed illicit brandy in a crematorium and died on the spot. The bottles had fake Indian made foreign liquor markings.
Mishra sues Joginder
NEW DELHI: Former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra has filed a suit against former CBI Director Joginder Singh, demanding Rs one crore for allegedly making defamatory remarks in his book Inside CBI. Mishra said Singh tried to establish a nexus between him, Laloo Yadav and ex-director of AHD Dr Ram Raj Ram by ``distorting the facts'' in the fodder scam.

Khajuraho fete
BHOPAL: President K R Narayanan will inaugurate the year-long Khajuraho millennium celebrations near Shivsagar lake in the temple town on Saturday. The President will go around the world famous temples and later inaugurate a weeks long Khajuraho dance festival.
