Two trying to steal from house held
The city police have arrested two persons for allegedly trying to commit theft in a house in Sector 28 last night. The two persons, Aman Vashisht of Panchkula and Jeevan Jyoti of Rajpura, have been arrested under Section 457, 380 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code.

Woman consumes poison
A Sector 8 resident, Ruby reportedly consumed poison at her home and was admitted to the PGI last night.

Truck driver held for rash driving
Local police have arrested a truck driver from Una, Raj Kumar, on charges of rash and negligent driving. Sources said a Pinjore resident, Manmohan Singh had lodged a complaint that Raj Kumar's truck bearing a Himachal Pradesh registration number had rammed his ambulance, thereby injuring him. Police have registered a case.

Gypsy hits woman; speeds away
Sector 48 Labour Colony resident Laxmi Devi was injured when an unidentified gypsy reportedly hit her and sped on the roundabout of Sector 47 and 48 while she was sitting in a rickshaw. The police have registered a case.

Eve-teaser held
Sector 19 resident Satish Banga has been arrested allegedly for eve-teasing. He has been held under Section 294 of the IPC.

Man alleges assault
Colony Number 4 resident Daya Nand Kumar has reported that he was assaulted by some unknown persons in the colony. A case has been registered.

Man cheated
Sector 23 resident Dev Raj Garg has been allegedly cheated to the tune of Rs 2 lakh in the sale of a plot by Maan Singh, a resident of Pinjore. The police have registered a cheating case against Mann Singh.
