The UT Education Department has set March 26 as the deadline for submitting nursery registration forms and directed parents to take the forms from the Government Model School in which admission is sought. Classes will start from April 20. According to Director Public Instructions D. S. Mangat, except for four schools (GMSSS-19, GMSSS-22, GMHS-29 and GMMS-39) with 80 seats each for pre-nursery, the city's 34 model schools each have 40 seats each for pre-nursery.

In GMSSS-16, GMSSS-23, GMSSS-46 and GHS-26 admission to nursery class will also be made on the basis of draw of lots.
