Woman dies of burns
One Reena Gaurishankar Singh, 35, originally hailing from Uttar Pradesh, succumbed to burn injuries here on Monday morning. According to the Jawaharnagar police, a case of accidental death has been registered following a complaint by Koyali sarpanch Chandrasinh Chauhan.The deceased was staying in Nava Dhanora Colony. According to the police, one Gaurishankar, an employee of a private security firm, was carrying her dead body but abandoned it when spotted by a villager. The police said the deceased's husband, and her brother-in-law were missing. PSI M S Chavda is inquiring into whether she had committed suicide or was burnt.
Phone stolen
A mobile phone, 98240-43464, worth Rs 11,900 of one Dr Samir Manubhai Contractor, was stolen from a room in the Doctors Quarters in the SSG Hospital on Wednesday night. According to the complainant, who works as an internee in the Department of Surgery, he was sleeping in the night when some unidentified persons entered his room and decamped with the phone.
Cylinder theft
A wafer dealer of Neelkanth Park under City Police Station has in a complaint with the police stated that an LPG cyclinder kept outside his shop on Wednesday was stolen by some unidentified persons. A case has been registered and investigations are on, the police said.
Liquor seized
A total 20 litres of country liquor worth Rs 400 was seized and two persons arrested in the connections during raids carried out in different parts of the city in the past 24 hours.
