CHANDIGARH, March 4: Three entrepreneurs from the city owning small scale industrial units were today awarded for their excellent record in production, employment, human resource management and adoption of latest technology.

The prize winners, who were awarded by the UT Home Secretary and Secretary, Industries Anuradha Gupta, included M.M. They were given a memento, a certificate and a cash award of Rs 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Anuradha Gupta said the administration was doing its best to extend maximum infrastructural facilities to the industrialists in the city. "A draft paper on the ownership of CITCO sheds, the issue which has been lingering for long, is being prepared. The administration is all set to finalise on the right to transfer property'', she said, disclosing the administration would soon begin with the construction of the proposed exhibition ground and the convention complex.

Gupta announced that the administration had decided to give preference to the products produced by the local industry in collaboration with neighbouring states in offices.

Director, Industries, Arun Shekhri said although Chandigarh did not have much scope for industrial expansion, city industrialists had been performing well.
