BUENOS AIRES: A month-long Argentine soccer strike has ended after a court lifted a ban on lower division matches hours after violent clashes between fans at a friendly match.

First division players went on strike in sympathy with their third and second division peers at the beginning of February after a court ordered the suspension because of hooliganism.

ZURICH: Fifa will set the date for the draw for the 2002 World Cup qualifying groups here at an executive committee meeting on March 11 and 12 and could yet open the door for more Asian nations to compete in the final stages.
