Dharna by INTUC members

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Patiala, March 12: The Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (INTUC) today organised a dharna here in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner against the state government's alleged indifferent attitude towards their demands. Addressing the dharna, Swaran Singh, state president of the federation criticised the state government's attitude towards the demands of the employees. He said the Badal-Tohra fued had created an atmosphere of uncertainty in the state and if it was not checked in time, it may help in the revival of militancy. He alleged that the SAD government had failed to speed up developmental works in the state and all work had came to a standstill throughout the state and nobody was happy with it.

Rajinder Moudgil, vice-president, Punjab INTUC, urged the government to accept the demands of the employees soon. Satish Maryia, district president of the federation, criticised the state government and said it had overburdened the employees with income tax. He urged CM Parkash Singh Badal to fulfill his commitment of giving 15 per cent house rent to Patiala-based employees.

The federation leaders threatened to launch an agitation to get their demands accepted if the state government failed to respond positively, soon.
