Custody for BJP man in Sangli builder's murder

SANGLI, MARCH 12: Bharatiya Janata Party member Sameer Patil who was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a city builder and a candidate during last year's civic elections Sanjay Patil was remanded in police custody for 13 days. Another suspect Dadasaheb Sawant is stll absconding.

Meanwhile, a Sangli police squad has been sent to recover Patil's body from Amba ghat on Kolhapur-Ratnagiri highway.

Patil was missing since November 4 last year according to a complaint lodged by his father Dinkar Patil. He had expressed apprehensions over the possibility of his son's abduction and murder.

After preliminary investigations Sangli police arrested Sameer who had allegedly threatened the deceased's wife Swati by asking her to sign certain property related papers.
