PCMC palms off `old memento' to Nepal team
Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Hanumant Bhosale and Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Thakur have been at loggerheads for quite sometime now. Their strained relations have now further acquired an edge.

This time, the Mayor is miffed at the way the PCMC handled the visit of a delegation from Lalitpur Municipal Corporation in Nepal.

The first citizen on Thursday alleged that the administration failed to intimate him in advance that the delegation from Nepal headed by Lalitpur Mayor Buddhiraj Vajracharya was to visit the corporation.

``Neither any corporator nor any elected office-bearer was informed in advance about the visit. I was informed just a few hours before their arrival in the town.'' Bhosale presented a memento to his counterpart from Lalitpur who reciprocated the gesture. However, the Mayor alleged that it was an ``old memento'' which was fished out by the administration from PCMC shelves. ``It was gathering dust for long and was given a new look before being presented to the delegation''.

Bhosale also did not join the guests for a luncheon hosted at the Durgadevi hills.
