Bigwigs get down to business at BPGC

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, MARCH 12: Golf enthusiasts from the corporate world, particularly aviation, will descend on the Bombay Presidency Golf Club for the second Pratt and Whitney Aviation Golf tournament tomorrow.

The 18-hole stableford better ball pairs event has a `golfer friendly' feature incorporated into it to give the player another chance. This means, the golfer who wishes to replay some shots is offered the chance to do so. Repeat shots can be played either at the time of tee-off or on the fairways, but no re-putting is permitted. The idea is to allow a player realise his `dream shot' that he couldn't play a while ago.

However, the player who cannot play repeat shots will be 30 per cent of the handicap. The balance 70 becomes the new handicap.

There will be many attractive prizes including ones for the longest drive and and nearest to the pin. A putting competition for those wielding the club for the first time will also be held.

Among those expected to tee-off tomorrow are former cricketers Karsan Ghavri,Ashok Mankad, well known aviation personalities VK Verma (Director Air India), Vinoo Kashyap (Director, Indian Airlines), UK Bose (CEO Sahara Airlines), Dr Kiran Rao (Ptesident Airbus) and Dinesh Keskar (President Boeing). Also in the fray are RK Pitamber, noted golfer and Arjuna awardee, Viren Shah and Rana Kapoor.
