Senior college teachers too on warpath

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, MARCH 13: Senior college teachers in Mumbai have signalled the beginning of their State-wide agitation for higher wages by organising a dharna at Azad Maidan on Monday.

Eight other unions state-wide, all of them affiliated to the Maharashtra Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations, will also simultaneously hold dharnas in their respective districts. Mumbai's teachers, represented by the Bombay University and College Teachers' Union say the agitation will continue if the Government remains deaf to their demands for revised pay scales and House Rent Allowance in tune with the Fifth Pay Commission.
