Reckitt & Coleman unveils cost-cutting plan
Embattled British household goods group Reckitt & Colman Plc launched a radical cost-cutting rescue plan to include job cuts and plant closures worldwide in a bid to stem an alarming profit slide.

SocGen and Paribas rebuff BNP bid
French banks Societe Generale and Paribas both rebuffed an unwelcome double-bid from rival BNP and said they wanted to pursue their own two-way merger.

Nasdaq slides along with software firm Oracle
Oracle corp., a leading technology company, paid a price for failing to meet Wall Street analysts' targets on Friday -- casting a pall on the sector overall. Nasdaq said the Oracle spill was responsible for a loss of roughly 10 points off the index Friday.
