Talking to CN, Dera Bassi Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sher Singh Sidhu said construction of the complex, constituting offices of civil judge, the SDM, tehsildar and naib tehsildar among others, will begin shortly and will be completed by the next financial year.

Presently, the SDM's office is functioning from a rented accommodation. Earlier, Punjab Finance Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh, during his recent visit to the town, had assured that all problems of the residents would be redressed under one roof. Sidhu, when contacted, said the sanctioned amount had already been released. The complex will have the Treasury and Assistant Public Relations office, besides residences for heads of offices, he added.
