JNU student suspended for two semesters
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, MARCH 19: JNU student Arvind Shukla -- accused of sexually harassing a Hungarian tourist illegally staying in the Sabarmati Hostel -- has been suspended for two semesters. Shukla is free to resume studies at the university after an year. The accused made a self-immolation bid on Thursday, minutes after the vice-chancellor had agreed with the inquiry committee recommendation that he be rusticated. A proctorial inquiry had been ordered to probe into a molestation complaint filed by the woman. The complaint states that the accused ``made sexual advances towards her''.Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
