Thakre thanks TDP for showing Cong its place

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Hyderabad, March 19: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Kushabhau Thakre today thanked Telugu Desam Party president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for supporting the BJP-led coalition in "difficult times" and foiling Congress' attempts to stage a comeback at the Centre."It is a fact that our parties are different. However, as Naidu understood that not only Andhra Pradesh but the entire country would be doomed if the Congress came back to power, he supported us. For this, we are indebted to him," Thakre said.

He urged the people to understand the difficulties faced by the coalition government before assessing its performance and cooperate with it in taking forward its developmental programmes. The BJP president was addressing a public meeting organised in the city in connection with the completion of one year in power of the Atal Behari Vajpayee government.

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress for attempting to pull down the coalition government, Thakre recalled how in its pursuit ofpower, it had toppled governments led by Charan Singh, Chandrasekhar, Deve Gowda and I K Gujral earlier. He minced no words in criticising the party for stooping down to any level to stay in power. However, the people had realised that this Dhokebaaz Congress would never do any good.
