Youth killed in Patel Nagar
A youth -- Kuldeep Kumar (18) -- was stabbed and killed in Patel Park, Patel Nagar, west Delhi on Wednesday night. The police are looking for the alleged assailants Lalit, Balbir and Mahavir. The police say Kumar and his friends and Mahavir and his friends have been regularly getting into fights at the park. The trouble started two days ago reportedly after Kuldeep's friend Surjeet pushed Mahavir. The two groups got into a fight again on Wednesday, and matters reached a head when Mahavir and two others stabbed Kuldeep and his friend Mahesh.

Body found
The unidentified body of a woman -- aged around 24 years -- was found in a sack in Hari Nagar, east Delhi on Wednesday morning. The sack was lying near the power house on Pankha Road. The police say there were injuries on the woman's face. The police have sent the body for post-mortem, registered a murder case and sought public help in identifying the body.

Woman held
A woman was arrested on Wednesday in Dabri for selling illicit liquor. She has been identified as Sita wife of Sita Ram and was nabbed in her Indira Park home in galli no: 25. The police claim to have recovered 398 pouches of country-made liquor and 80 quarters of Champion whiskey from her. A case has been registered against Sita under the Excise Act.

2 die in mishaps
An unidentified scooterist, aged about 26 years, was crushed under a speeding truck on National Highway 8 near Ryan Public School in Vasant Kunj, south-west Delhi around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday. He died on the spot. Truck driver Gurdayal Singh -- a resident of Jhilmil Colony in Shahdara -- has been arrested. The Delhi Cantonment police have registered an accident case.

In another fatal accident on Wednesday night, a pedestrian -- Bhagalpur (Bihar) resident Pawan Pandey (24) -- was run over by a speeding bus near the Nizammudin bridge in east Delhi. The bus was coming from Noida and the accident occurred at the T-point crossing near the bridge. Passersby ran after the bus and forced the driver to stop. He has been identified as Mohammed Arif, a resident of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, and has been arrested. The Trilokpuri police have registered an accident case.

Two arrested n two youths in their 20s -- Rakesh and Babloo -- were nabbed in Nangloi. The youths were in a Maruti and were stopped at a police picket. It was subsequently discovered that they were driving a stolen Maruti. The police claim to have recovered two more stolen cars following up on their disclosure statements. They were allegedly involved in a burglary at the Arya Samaj Mandir in 1997.

In the second incident, police arrested a Birju gang member -- Ajay -- from Paschim Vihar. The police claim to have recovered a country-made revolver from him and have booked him under the Arms Act. The police are now verifying whether or not he is involved in other cases.

A former laboratory technician at Saini Rubbers has been nabbed for allegedly manufacturing fake gas pipes in the company's name. Satish Kumar (34) had started his own factory in Nangloi and allegedly made the pipes using the Saini Rubber brand name.

Three arrested in Ghazipur
Three youths have been arrested for allegedly robbing a Ghazipur resident on Wednesday night. They have been identified as Madan (18), Khem Chand alias Sunder (17) and Mohammed Shah (17) within an hour of the robbery. Around 9.30 p.m., Virender Singh (25), an employee of Hindustan Adhesive, was robbed of his wallet and watch at knife-point. Singh's boss had dropped him off at the Telco T-point and he was walking toward the SFS Flats to get an autorickshaw. The three robbed him and then ran off towards Ghazipir village. Singh followed them for some time, then stopped at a nearby shop and described them to the owner. The shopkeeper identified one of them as Madan and gave Singh their address, which was passed on to the police.

Man arrested
A man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for snatching a chain from a woman on Ramjas Marg in central Delhi. The victim Renu Yadav (38) -- a resident of P&T Quarters in Dev Nagar -- started screaming for help. Passersby chased the thief and caught him. He was subsequently identified as Rakesh -- a resident of Dhobi Wali gali in Manakpura -- described by the police as a smack addict, and taken to the Desh Bandhu Gupta Road Police Station.
