Change in Government Resolution for teachers

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, March 25: An amendment has been made in the Government Resolution which was issued for the payment of arrears to university teachers according to the Vth Pay Commission. The resolution, which comes into effect this month-end, says that the payment would be made in installments and not in lumpsum as per the earlier GR which was issued in September 7. The resolution was issued during the university teachers' strike for a pay hike.

President of the Baroda University Teachers Association, A Pepalla said, under the recommendation teachers will now get 50 per cent of the amount in cash and 50 per cent deposited in the GPF. According to Pepalla, while according to the earlier agreement the money would be paid in one installment, under the new modification teachers would be paid only 50 per cent cash.
