Cases registered
In a complaint lodged with the Wadi police station on Wednesday, one Kalurao Marathe, a resident of Dabhoi Road, complained that one Lalo alias Vijay Sharma, also a resident of the same place, had eloped with his daughter Sumitra. In another complaint, filed in the same case, Jashoda Marathe, Sumitra's aunt, alleged that one Bhima Rawal, a resident of Bharatwadi on Dabhoi Road, and Sharma's neighbour, threatened her of dire consequences and behaved indecently with her, as he held her responsible for the situation.

Thefts
In two separate incidents of theft reported on Wednesday, goods and cash worth Rs 6,000 were reported stolen. According to the police, one Vishalben Vijaybhai Prabhakar, a resident of Gandhinagar Colony no one in Karelibaug, had gone to a cloth shop the Mangal Bazar, when some unidentified people stole her purse containing Rs 1,000 and her moped key. In another case, a portable generator worth Rs 5,000 was stolen from Sai Smriti Hospital in Urmila Society on Productivity Road under the J P Road police station.

Scooter stolen
One Naresh Kumar Kantibhai Darji, a resident of 16, Dhanunjai Park, near Amitnagar Circle in Karelibaug, lodged a complaint with the Raopura police station that his Bajaj Super scooter (GJ-6-E-7625) worth Rs 10,000 was stolen from outside SSG Hospital on Wednesday.

Goods gutted
Essential goods and grains worth nearly Rs 12,000 were gutted when four houses in Kundela village beyond Kelanpur on the Dabhoi Road caught fire at 1.20 pm on Thursday. According to Fire Brigade sources, the fire stated in the house of farmers as was caused by a stray ember from a chulla. No casualty has been reported. The Fire Brigade took over half-an-hour to extinguish the fire.
