Advani summons Bihar chief secy, DGP
The Union Home Ministry has summoned Bihar's chief secretary and Director General of Police for an in-depth meeting to review the situation in the State which saw 34 more killings last week in Jehanabad.
Thakre to skip coordination panel meet
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Kushabhau Thakre is likely to skip the coordination committee meeting of the ruling alliance scheduled for Saturday. Thakre's absence will mean that the party organisation will be unrepresented -- an indicator of the schism between the Government and the party.
Privileges Committee to inquire into Jaya charges
In another dramatic spin-off of the Tamaraikani issue, the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P T R Palanivel Rajan on Thursday referred a privilege issue against former chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha to the Privileges Committee for thorough inquiry.
