Sena-RPI clash causes tension

Tension prevailed in the Ambedkar Nagar locality of Vile Parle after police arrested two Shiv Sainiks and two Republican Party of India (RPI) workers following a scuffle between members of the two parties on Thursday night.

A tomato was thrown, allegedly by RPI members, at a cultural programme organised by local Sainiks on the occasion of Ram Navami, leading to the fight. No one was injured.

The Ambedkar Nagar area is prone to political tension because the offices of the Sena and RPI are very close to each other.
