Kudos for Bangalore-based mother-daughter team

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
BANGALORE, March 26: For Jamila Malhotra and her daughter, Seema Sheriff, in Bangalore, the Oscar awards were a special reason to celebrate. Judy Dench went on the stage and thanked the mother-daughter team for their role in her winning the Best Supporting Actress award. They embroidered Dench's gowns in the movie. Their cousin, Shekhar Kapoor, had approached them to do the embroidery for the Queen in his `Elizabeth', and, after `Elizabeth' took off, Sandy Powell, costume designer for `Shakespear in Love' called them up to ask them to do the embroidery for that film too. Powell won the Oscar for `Best Costume Design' for the same film.
