RJP's mass contact from May 1

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, March 28: The Mahagujarat Sangharsh Samiti, formed recently by the Opposition parties barring the Congress, will launch a fortnight-long State-wide mass contact programme from May 1 to create awareness among villagers in particular about the failures of the BJP Government.

This was decided at a samiti meeting in Gandhinagar today. "Besides Rashtriya Janata Party president Shankersinh, several RJP leaders such as Dilip Parikh, Madhusudan Mistry, Vishnu Pandya, samiti organiser Dattabhai Chirandas and RJP office-bearers attended the meeting", party national general secretary Vishnu Pandya said in a statement.

He said RJP leaders and workers would meet people of around 15,000 villages during the mass-contact programme. Further programmes will be decided at a samiti meeting on April 10, Pandya said.

He said the samiti was formed at a meeting of Opposition leaders, representatives from various NGOs and senior citizens from all over the State, in Ahmedabad recently.

He said the intellectuals, leaders of political parties barring the Congress and the BJP, the NGO representatives and senior citizens will again meet on April 17 to chalk out programmes. Vaghela, while addressing the samiti meeting today, appealed to the RJP leaders, office-bearers and workers as also the samiti leaders to visit each village in the State to lend strength to the proposed State-wide programme.
