VADODARA, March 28: Members of the Surat-based, Avishkar Group, were declared winners at the six-day drama competition organised by the Gujarat Rajya Sangeet Natak Academy, Vadodara Municipal Corporation and Triveni, which concluded at the Gandhinagar Gruh here on Friday.The members won the first prize for their performance in Tirode Footi Koomp. The winners received an amount of Rs 10,000 from the organisers of the event.
The runner-up of the contest were members of the Rashtriya Kalakendra, another Surat-based group, who received an amount of Rs 7,000 for their performance in Takhtana Pipa Prakashe.
Meanwhile, Sarjan was given the award for being the most sensitive play to be enacted at the competition.
The participants of various theatre groups were recognised for their participation and given away cash awards and certificates. The awards were distributed by the Mayor Bharti Vyas.
