DPS launches school for slum kids

NEW DELHI, March 28: The Delhi Public School (DPS), RK Puram, today launched a centre for children living in slums. The `Anubhav Shiksha Kendra' (ASK) of DPS, RK Puram, in South Delhi, will give children from slum clusters in the surrounding areas access to DPS's resources like its library, playgrounds and laboratories, Shyama Chona, principal, said while launching the centre here. ASK, which will function after regular school hours in the afternoon from April 5, will employ educated women from the slums as teachers, Chona said.Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
