Election of Karnataka Council deputy chief postponed till May

Bangalore, March 28: The Karnataka Legislative Council today postponed the deputy chairman's elections to March 31 without giving any reason. Motions in support of four candidates were listed in the day's agenda and discussions were held in the chairman's chamber in connection with the elections. However, no decision could be arrived at during the talks.The candidates whose names had been proposed for the post were D H Shankaramurthy (BJP), Saritha Kusmakara Desai (Lok Shakti), David Simenon (JD) and T Kempamma (Cong).Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
