Allies rally around Vajpayee
The BJP and its allies have decided to call AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha's bluff by rallying solidly behind Defence Minister George Fernandes. Rattled by signals emanating from the Jayalalitha camp, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee convened an emergency meeting of alliance partners yesterday.

Jaya ko gussa kyon ata hai?
Jayalalitha's tirade against Defence Minister George Fernandes has come like a bolt from the blue for the Vajpayee Government. Till the other day, Fernandes was the chief mediator and negotiator with the mercurial AIADMK leader. Now, he seems to have become the chief target of her anger.
