BJP gets that sinking feeling
Once again, the BJP-led government fumbled for a response to an ultimatum from AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha before backtracking and giving in to her demand. Panic spread when Jayalalitha threatened to withdraw support "in an hour'' if Prime Minister A B Vajpayee did not disown Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Kumaramangalam's adverse remarks against her.

The conflict in the Balkans got dirtier on Thursday following the capture of three American soldiers by Serbs, prompting more tough talk from NATO and US officials and escalated bombing of Belgrade.

BJP lacks administrative skills -- Jaya
AIADMK chief Jayalalitha has said that the BJP has long been in the Opposition and does not know how to handle power due to less administrative experience. Jayalalitha said the BJP has to understand that in a coalition government major policy decisions cannot be made without consultations with the coalition partners or informing them and added that this leads to friction between its allies.
