Govt okays Malabar Hill promenades

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Mumbai, April 6: The state government has approved a proposal by Malabar Hill Citizens' Forum for a sea-walk and promenade from Hanging Garden to Priyadarshini Park and another promenade from Priyadarshini Park to near US Consulate. This was announced by the forum's president B A Desai today. The proposal is now waiting the Centre's sanction. Meanwhile, Desai accused the BMC of not taking Mumbai's environmental requirements seriously. The BMC's Environmental Status Report says nothing about how the BMC will deal with Mumbai's environmental problems, he said.
