More leaders quit RJP

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, April 5: Yet another Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) councillor of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and several other members have resigned from the party on the charges of the RJP not having a policy for the minorities and the city unit being governed by a particular group of persons.

According to councillor Ashwin Thakore, who resigned last week, the number of persons who have resigned has gone up to 121.

While he and Harish Vaghela resigned in the earlier batch, councillor Geeta Desai has shot off her resignation now. Others who have resigned include former city party general secretary Girish Desai, senate member Raisinh Daima and Vijay Chauhan, a close associate of former Mayor Hemchandra Bochare.

Geeta Desai alleged that the party had not taken care of the members would have devotedly worked for it. She went on to allege that instead of serving the masses, a large number of members worked for their own interest.

Former Minister Ramesh Thakore, who resigned last week, said that peoples' issues had taken a backseat.
