Katia case: Judgment deferred till April 10

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, April 7: The judgment in the infamous Katia Darnard molestation and kidnaping case was today deferred till April 10 by UT Chief Judicial Magistrate Sant Parkash. The case, in which the grandson of late Beant Singh Gurkirat is one of the accused, besides six others, came up in the city court today.

It may be recalled that on April 1, the CJM had reserved the judgment for today after hearing the arguments of the defence counsel.

Katia was allegedly kidnapped and molested on August 31, 1994, by the seven accused at S.A.S. Nagar. During the hearings held earlier all the accused pleaded that they were innocent and had been falsely implicated in the case.
