City homoeopath claims cure for brain tumour

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, April 7: A city Homoeopath has claimed that he is the first to have cured a malignant brain tumour by medicines alone. Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, Dr Kaushal Jain, who runs a clinic in Chhani, said he had completely cured a condition called `recurrent astrocytoma' in one of his patients, a three-year-old boy named Harsh Desai.

The boy was first detected with brain tumour when aged one. CT scans taken then showed a large tumour of 4.7x3.1x3.6 cms in the right half of his brain. Harsh was operated upon and his tumour removed. However, he suffered a relapse and was diagnosed with a recurrent condition the following year.

When chemotherapy and radiotherapy both failed to cure him, Harsh's parents took him to Dr Kaushal Jain in March '98. Since then the boy has shown marked improvement. A CT scan taken on March 9th this year shows that the tumour has disappeared. Today, he was taken for admission to an school.

Dr Jain says that while Homeopathy does have medicines for such conditions, no one before him had reported complete success. He said he planned to report his results in a medical journal soon.
