Builder asked to compensate customers

BANGALORE, April 7: The Karnataka State Commission for Consumer Grievances Redressal has awarded a compensation of over Rs 3 lakhs each to two consumers who were put to mental agony and hardship by a property developer. As per the complaint launched by Mumtaz Tajudeen, she had entered into an agreement with PV Consultants on Palace Road here to build an apartment and garage for her for Rs 7,85,500. The developer also agreed to pay an interest of 18% for the period of delay, in case he fails to complete the work on time. However, even after six years the developer had not finished her apartment and not provided the basic amenities.
