Shetty upset, Gokhale smug, Satam as usual mum
Smiles around the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters said only one thing -- good riddance! A day after the state Cabinet decided to scrap the Mayor-in-Council system, the atmosphere in the BMC was that of subdued celebration, fire-crackers probably saved for the day when the bosses would finally go.

Victim of sexual harassment sues Saudi for Rs 1 cr damages
After emerging successful in the sexual harassment case against Saudi Arabian Airlines, Shehnaz Sani has now sued the company for damages to the tune of around Rs one crore in a civil suit filed in Bombay High Court. This is the first time in India that somebody has filed for damages in a sexual harassment case.

Teachers brought under Essential Service Ordinance
After a brief debate and walkout by Communist and Peasants and Workers Party members, the Legislative Assembly today passed a resolution to enlist the services of secondary, higher secondary and junior college teachers associated with the SSC and HSC examinations.
