Traders meet Kiran Bedi
The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal today met Inspector General of Police Kiran Bedi and apprised her of the law and order problems in the city. After listening to their problems, Bedi assured that licences and arms training would be given to respective market chowkidars by the police. She also assured that traffic police personnel would assist parking attendants of the market association for proper traffic regulation. Meanwhile, the beopar mandal has also decided to hold a general body meeting to discuss constructive proposals.

Crop burnt
Two minor fires broke out n SAS Nagar -- one in Badomajra village near Balongi -- in which one acre of crop was destroyed and the other in Kamboli village in which also standing crop was destroyed. However, both the fires were controlled by fire brigade officials.
