Research on Website for Punjab

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, April 9: ``I am surprised at the student-teacher ratio in Indian schools," said Julie Blackford, head of Religious Studies, Sutherland School in England, who was here and interacted with the pupils of Indian Public School, Sector 37 today.

The teacher from England and her colleagues are on a month-long educational and cultural exchange programme with an aim to create a Website on Punjab, which would provide a good insight into the state, it's culture, villages and education. ``As most of our students are from India, we wanted to know more about Punjabi culture and put it on the Website,'' said Julie.

She is working on an education project with her Indian counterpart Harjinder Kaur, principal, Indian Public School. The other members of her team are -- Gwyenth Watkins, Inis Jones and Santokh Minhas.Earlier, the team also visited Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36.
