Open darbar held by DC

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PANCHKULA, April 9: An "open darbar" was held today in Mankaya village, district Panchkula. Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula, Saroj Siwatch listened to the personal and social greviences of the general public, constituting the villages of Ramgarh, Billa, Kishangarh, and Nagal.

On this occasion, the Sarpanch of village Ramgarh, Raj Kumar Saini, demanded the construction of a shed on the land allotted by HUDA for the cremation ground, in Sector 28. He said the provision for the shed should be made by HUDA itself or through the allocation of some funds. Referring to the demand for speed breakers on the village crossroads, the DC said that it cannot be done because of the village being on the National Highway. The Sarpanch also demanded the setting-up of examination centres for the students of class 10 and 12, as according to him, students of these classes had to go to Barwala for appearing in their exams. The DC assured that steps in this direction would be taken.

The Panchayat also presented a written demand for regulating cooking gas supply, for which, Siwatch said that the Panchayat should write to the Food and Supplies Department. The Sarpanch of village Mankaya, Sohna Devi, requested the Deputy Commissioner that the school be upgraded from the primary to the middle level and two additional rooms be added to the school building. Besides, the Panchayats of Kishangarh and Nagal villages requested that a road be constructed in the half kilometer stretch from the school to the main road. The DC ensured that this project will soon be completed.

The Panchayats of Ramgarh and Mankaya put forward the problems faced in supply of drinking water. The DC has ordered the Health officials to look into the matter and ensure water supply in villages Ramgarh and Mankaya. The Deputy Commissioner also listened to problems of the general public and solved many of them on the spot. Also present in the "Open Darbar" were the Superintendent of Police, Alok Mittal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajbir Singh and other officials.
