Traders block traffic after raid
Ambala: Officials of the Income-Tax Department had to discontinue their inspection in the wholesale cloth market today as the agitated traders closed down their establishments, protesting against the raid being carried out without taking into confidence the president of the Wholesale Cloth Market Association. The shopkeepers blocked traffic for over half-an-hour and went on strike. Officials said the traders were using pressure tactics to ensure that the raid be discontinued.Office bearers

Patiala: All teaching, non-teaching, research departments and affiliated colleges of Punjabi University shall remain closed for two day from April 12 on account of tercentenary celebrations of the birth of Khalsa Panth. According to a press release issued by the university, here today.
