CCI boys, Leela women tops

MUMBAI, APRIL 9: There was a heady finish to the women's and junior boys' team events of the 26th Motilal Sanghi Inter-Club squash tournament today. The Leela clinched the women's title after a three-way tie in the league was decided in their favour. The junior boys title went to Otters, again after a triple tie.

Boys: Otters bt CCI 3-2 (Gautam Kalani lost to Mihir Sheth 0-9 3-9 2-9; Kabir Kapoor lost to Siddharth Suchde 3-9 4-9 2-9; Junaid Nathani bt Sahil Vora 9-5 9-4 9-4; Vishal Kapoor bt Rahul Lulla 9-4 9-7 9-6; Parth Doshi bt Anshul Manchanda 9-5 2-9 9-4 9-4); Jindal bt Bombay Gym 5-0; Willingdon w/o United Services.

Titan Industriestop

Titan Industries scored a 25-run win over TELCO in the B Division final of the Tata Inter-Companies cricket tournament (45 overs), today.

Senthil, who top-scored with 64, was adjudged man of the match. Ex-Test player Abey Kuruvilla gave away the prizes.

CBI in quarters

Raider Amol Mhatre, ably assisted by Tanaji Kurhade and Chandrakant Aphandkar, helped Central Bank of India inflict a humiliating 42-15 defeat on Air-India in the pre-quarter final league of the Radheyshyam Gupta Trophystate-level kabaddi tournament organised by Goregaon Sports Club today. CBI, with two wins, advanced to the quarter-final.

RCF also entered the last eight, beating GM Police 17-9. In the women's league, Chembur Kreeda Mandal, N Bavyug KM and Dr Shirodkar were the teams to advance.
