While addressing the gathering on the occasion, she reiterated the need for women to fight for their own cause and not depend on others for economical and political support and stressed the importance of independent decision-making.

She said women should keep in touch with modern technological advancement in order to keep pace with the changing world and shun old customs and stand up to oppression perpetrated by the menfolk. She also asked the educated women to enlighten the women from the old notions and past beliefs.

The president of the local chapter, Pam Rajput, also welcomed the chief guest and told the gathering about the samiti's history and the chief guest's contribution towards the society. She said the society will undergo a revamp soon.
