CHANDIGARH, April 11: UT Civil Judge (Junior Division) Tejwinder Singh has issued notice for July 24 to Ashok Kumar Mahajan, managing partner, K.C. Cinema, in an application filed by Sanjay Garg (owner of a canteen in the said cinema) wherein he has asked the court to initiate action against the respondent for his wilful disobedience of the interim injunction granted by the court on March 27 whereby a status quo had been declared on the property in question. In his application, the complainant pleaded that earlier he had filed a suit asking the court to restrain the defendant from interfering in the possession of canteen on the ground floor and also for restraining him from allowing anybody else than the plaintiff from selling eatables in the theatre premises.
The Civil Judge, after hearing arguments in the case, had granted interim injunction by ordering a status quo.
In his application, Garg stated that in spite of knowledge of the interim injunction, Ashok Kumar started interfering in the possession and threw the refrigerator outside the canteen. Four stabilisers were also forcibly removed, it was stated in the application. The plaintiff added that he reported the matter to the police.
