According to Diwakar Sahoonja, chairman of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal Committee on Rent Act, a delegation of traders would soon meet local MP Satya Pal Jain, and press for the introduction of amendments in the Rent Act, seeking protection for the trading community. Traders all over the nation had objected to the Rent Act earlier and staged nation-wide protests.
