Khalsa tercentenary celebrations in city

VADODARA, April 11: The Gurudwara Singh Sabha (Khanderao Market) has arranged a number of programmes on April 12, 13 and 14 to mark the culmination of tercentenary celebrations of the Khalsa Panth. According to information, on April 12, kirtan would be organised from 7 am to 9 am, which would be followed by Akhand Path at Gurudwara Singh Sabha at Khanderao Market. Also, on April 12 and 13, Bhai Bhupinder Singh will enlighten the sangat with melodious katha-kirtan from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at Pologround, followed by a community meal.

On April 13, the North Indian Cultural Association will organise a grand fireworks programme from 10 pm onwards. While, a shabad-kirtan programme of Bhai Bhupinder Singh will be held at Pologround from morning till noon on April 14, Swami Sachchidanandji (Dantaliwala) will speak on Sikhism from noon to 1 pm which will be followed a community kitchen. A blood donation and free diabetes check-up camp has also been arranged by the Lions Club of Lalbaug at Pologround at 10.30 am on April 14 to highlight the importance of social welfare as preached by Sikhism.

Paintings and pictures depicting how the Khalsa Panth was founded, will also be exhibited on the occasion at the Pologround.

Forthcoming programmes over the year include spreading the message of brotherhood and peace between various castes and religions and promoting the teachings of the Sikh religion.
